Pivotal Debuts Spring IO Platform at SpringOne 2GX 2013
A New Era for the Spring Project Ushered in with Radical Capabilities for Developers; Premier Java Conference Attracts 1000+ Attendees
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept 10, 2013 —Pivotal, the company setting the new standard for enterprise Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), announced today at the SpringOne 2GX 2013 conference the new Spring IO Platform with a complete set of new enhancements designed to extend the capabilities, and application development performance of the Spring foundation. In affiliation with No Fluff Just Stuff, SpringOne 2GX 2013 is the premier Spring and Groovy/Grails conference taking place this week for application developers, solution architects, web operations and IT teams who develop business applications, create multi-device aware web applications, design cloud architectures, and manage high performance infrastructure.
“Spring IO is a platform that ushers in a new era for Spring,” said Adrian Colyer, CTO of Application Fabric at Pivotal. “It features significant new capabilities for developers that will increase productivity, decrease time to production through integrated DevOps capabilities, and enable new classes of applications exploiting big data, analytics, and mobile.”
With the Spring IO Platform, developers can expect:
- Spring IO: A platform and a simple way to think about the new era of Spring at Pivotal
- Spring IO Foundation: a cohesive set of APIs and embeddable runtime components (Spring modules) enabling you to build applications addressing a wide range of enterprise requirements
- Spring IO Execution: provides direct execution support (domain-specific runtimes, or DSRs) for applications built on the IO Foundation modules. A DSR can run standalone without requiring deployment to an external container
- Spring IO Website: completely overhauled by using the innovations comprised in the new Spring IO Platform, documentation and samples to present the lean, modern face of Spring and a use-case oriented approach to exploring the platform
At this year’s SpringOne 2GX, attendees will gain industry insight through 100 sessions, straightforward technical briefings and trainings.
